Playa Delfines

It may not be an insider tip, but it’s still a tip. 😉 One of the most beautiful beaches can be found in the hotel zone at kilometer 18, called “Playa Delfines”.

The location

The best way to reach Playa Delfines is by bus. You take the bus lines R1 or R2, both stop directly at the beach. The cost for the bus is 12 Pesos (0,56 USD / 0,47 EUR) per ride. The bus stop is also called Playa Delfines. If you tell the bus driver in advance that you want to get off at Playa Delfines, he will stop here automatically. Otherwise you have to pay attention to the signs and press the stop button on the bus in time.

As soon as you reach the bus stop, you can already see the viewpoint of the beach. The road is above the beach, so that you can look down on the beach from here. You can see the white beach and the water, which shines in different shades of blue.

The beach

The beach here is, like almost everywhere in Cancún, beautiful white. The structure of the sand is very fine. As this is a public beach, very crowded by tourists, it is well maintained and very clean.

The nice thing about this beach is that there are some free beach umbrellas. So if you get to the beach in time you can get a shady place under one of the many umbrellas.

The water

The water here glows in the most diverse shades of blue. When the sky is cloudless and the sun is shining, you really have the most beautiful blue tones here.

In contrast to other beach sections in Cancún, you have a little stronger wind and some smaller waves here, on which you can already surf. In general you can do different water sports like surfing, kit surfing, jet skiing, etc.

Others

You can easily spend the whole day on this beach. As already mentioned, there are free parasols, which is perfect if you don’t want to lie in the sun all the time or travel with children. There are public toilets, showers and at regular intervals a few dealers come by to sell you drinks and snacks on request. The dealers are not pushy on this beach as you might know it from other vacation countries. Furthermore, there is free WLAN available at this beach.
